After earning her degree in Regional Studies (Asia/Africa), Barbara worked primarily for NGOs, where she oversaw administrative processes and helped shape public relations efforts. Her regional focus is on Europe, Turkey, and the Middle East; in terms of subject matter, she has primarily focused on the sociopolitical upheavals in Syria. She has spent extended periods studying in Syria and Turkey.

At the SLE, Barbara is responsible for administrative and organizational tasks, working closely with the Executive Board and the Academic and Research Departments.

Main Area of Activity:

• Administrative tasks, including office organization, communication, correspondence, scheduling, and travel management
• Processing and Overseeing Academic Administrative Procedures
• Support for Events Related to SLE
• Maintaining the SLE website and assisting with public relations
