Mathis is studying Integrated Natural Resource Management at Humboldt University in Berlin and previously studied political science as well as international relations and organizations at Leiden University. He is particularly interested in the management of socio-ecological systems, transdisciplinarity, and the public acceptance of environmental measures. As a student assistant, Mathis supports Silke Stöber in her research projects and website development.
