Course Objectives

By the end of the course participants will have a good knowledge of the principles of project management in development projects. They will have practised its principal mechanisms and be in a position to apply them.

  • PM+E in development organizations in Berlin

Course Methods

One of the major challenges of Project Management is interdisciplinary teamwork. The course supports participants to become familiar with working in interdisciplinary multicultural groups. The training course fosters learning from experience by giving brief trainer inputs followed by the practice of the use of relevant tools, interactive exercises, discussion and reflection.The sessions at SLE are complemented by excursions to relevant development organisations in the field of project planning, monitoring and evaluation in Berlin.


Target Group

Professionals in the field of international cooperation and development. A good command of the English language is a prerequisite.

Gabi Struck is an agricultural engineer active in the field of international development and cooperation for 35 years. As a consultant and trainer for project management and institutional development she works with partners and their projects in Latin America, Asia, Africa, Europe and the USA. Her work is her passion. She spends her free time with her daughter and both enjoy exploring different cultures and cuisines.

General information

The training course takes place at the Centre for Rural Development (SLE), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Course hours are from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm from Monday to Friday unless otherwise noted.

The tuition fee is 1690,- euros per participant.

This includes:

  • 10-days training course
  • Catering during coffee breaks
  • Photo-Documentation
  • Certificate of participation

Individual costs for travel, accommodation, visa fees, insurance and personal allowances are not included.
