SLE STUDIES - Post-graduate studies 'International cooperation for sustainable development'

Develop personal and professional skills, design and lead projects, build partnerships: The SLE's twelve-month post-graduate study programme offers an ideal start to a professional career in international cooperation for sustainable development.

The post-graduate programme has been part of the SLE for more than 50 years, and is continually being updated and improved. This one-year programme is aimed at students with a masters degree and some basic practical experience in international cooperation. The course begins in January and runs until December. It is full-time and requires attendance. Course participation is funded in the form of a loan, 25% of which does not need to be paid back.

Every year, 20 students come together to deepen their knowledge of development studies and to learn new tools and strategies for sustainable development. In addition, they study management methods specially suited for use in international cooperation and development. The course also covers important personal skills such as teamwork, communication and stress management.

Students also get the chance to put their newly-acquired skills and knowledge into practice, as part of a six-month empirical study, including field work in a foreign country (overseas projects) and supervised by an experienced team leader.
