Prof. Dr. Markus Hanisch
Responsibilities at the SLEManagement and strategic development of the SLE in study, training, research, consulting, and teaching. Acquisition and supervision of SLE projects abroad, teaching at the SLE/Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, doctoral supervision, scientific development, and networking.
PhD in agricultural and resource economics. Many years of experience as a chairholder, project manager, and university lecturer at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Particular expertise in the field of rural cooperatives, international/national. Professional experience as a consultant and expert for various international organisations, including the GIZ, FAO, World Bank, Conservation International, and UN-DESA. Head of SLE since 2019.
Head of research projects and teaching and consulting projects, especially in the following areas: rural and agricultural development, farmer collective action, management of small farmers' organisations, cooperatives, cooperative legislation, microfinance institutions, rural innovations, research projects on energy, dairy, goods, water, coffee, wine, and consumption, and women's cooperatives.
