Celebrating the completion of this year’s SLE TRAINING programme

In November, SLE TRAINING was happy to conduct two more training courses in our training facilities in the heart of Berlin.

Our inspirational trainer Gabi Struck gave a 10-days intensive training course on Management of Development Projects. With participants from all over the world concepts such as project cycle management and impact orientation as well as principles of monitoring & evaluation were explored. Excursions to meet experts at VENRO, Save the Children, Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation and Bread for the World completed the programme.

Just a few days later, Dr. Till Sterzel started with the last SLE TRAINING course in 2019 on Greener Cities for Sustainable Development in the Urban Century. With multiple examples from high-, middle and low-income economies, excursions to good practices in Berlin and strategies for mitigation and adaptation of climate change impacts in cities, the international participants‘ group successfully accomplished the training course, being equipped to deduce implications for their own work in various parts of the world.

With the successful completion of these two last training courses SLE is looking back on a year rich in thoughtful experiences and encounters with 90 engaged participants from 32 different countries and a plurality of fruitful discussions. We welcomed 50 women and 40 men from ministries and local governments, staff from UNDP, UNHCR, FAO and other international organizations, GIZ, consulting companies, research institutes as well as from large and smaller civil society organizations. We are very happy that two thirds of the participants rated the overall impression of the training courses as "excellent"!

We would like to thank all participants, trainers, co-trainers, guest speakers and those involved in the organization of the training courses and are looking forward to next year’s programme. Our online application form on the SLE website will be activated in February 2020. If you would like to sign up for our newsletter, please write an email to sletraining[at]
