Finishing productive week of Rural Transformation training course

The SLE TRAINING course “Rural Transformation”, took place from 22 – 26 October 2018, and welcomed 13 participants from 9 different countries to explore a new perspective on rural development. The course focused on the systematic analysis of Structural and Rural Transformation processes, their assessment with due consideration of development policy objectives and aimed at contributing to policies and strategies for the effective promotion and shaping of those processes in a socially inclusive and ecologically sustainable manner.

Rural transformation implies a new perspective on rural development. The transformation debate takes into account that the progress and the path of rural development depends to a considerable degree on the development in other sectors of the economy and the global economic environment. Group work and case studies allowed participants to examine the issues together and exchange on their own experiences. We would like to thank all the participants, the trainer Dr. Theo Rauch for his expertise and insights, as well as Susanne Beurton and Erik Engel for their contributions to enabling a productive and enriching training course!
