Succesful Completion of "Training of Trainers" Course

From October 8th -19th, we had the pleasure to complete the SLE TRAINING course Training of Trainers (ToT) with 11 participants of 9 different countries. The long professional experience of trainer Gesa Grundmann, which she gained over more than 25 years in diverse settings in Asia, Latin America and Germany, enriched an intensive knowledge exchange with the curious participants. The learning objectives were to acquire and apply an own toolbox, advance soft skills, learn in a community of practice and most important to get the big picture: Especially skills and knowledge around the topics of design, planning, organization, conduction and evaluation of trainings through practice-based learning methods were gained.

In order for the advanced trainers to grow with diverse inspirations and gain a broad knowledge on methods, tools and techniques, to eventually find their own particular training style, the training plan had foreseen several guest speakers and excursions. During a webinar, each participant could test in practice, if this training format is fitting his or her needs, personality and goals, and how to eventually apply it in the future. Further, the participants got to know two consultancy firms, Como Consult and Denkmodell in their Berlin-based offices. Participants got to see the training spaces and exchanged over the organizational background on planning, organization and conduction of trainings. Last but not least, it should not be short on methodological creative elements, hence the course had the pleasure to have a training session with Till Baumann, who engaged with the 11 participants via a plurality of theater elements that can be adapted to several training formats.

During one of the many energizers we came to the conclusion, that all participants together count 160 years of professional experience. Therewith the training format did not only enabled the interactive passing-on of the highly valuable experiences of trainer Gesa Grundmann, but also participants could benefit from their different backgrounds, diverse working contexts and professional history. With this exchange also new insights and feedback on the several case studies equipped these trainers to leave the two weeks intensive course with a highly advanced knowledge, skills and attitude to be applied on their upcoming paths.

We would like to thank all the participants and especially the trainer Gesa Grundmann and training assistant Helen Engelhardt!
