PhD in agricultural economics with a regional specialisation in Asia. Over 20 years' experience in development and research at various institutions, including Humboldt-Universitaet Berlin, Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), CARE International, Helvetas, German Welthungerhilfe, Deutscher Genossenschafts- und Raiffeisenverband (German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation), GIZ, United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO).
