University Cooperation

In setting up a Masters programme in Mozambique, the SLE took large parts of its curriculum and adapted them to a completely new context and new target groups. This was the first time that the SLE carried out such a transfer of its teaching programme. The Masters programme in 'Rural Sociology and Development Management' has been running since early 2008 as a work-based study programme with compulsory attendance.

Since 2013, the university partnership with the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) has been developed and extended. The advice and consultation provided by the SLE for the Masters programme in 'Strategies and Tools for Sustainable Development' mainly involves knowledge transfer in practice-oriented research and training for teachers.

Also since 2003, the SLE has been collaborating with the Columbian Universidad Autónoma de Manizales (UAM). This collaboration mainly involves advice on the introduction of practice-oriented interdisciplinary commissioned research into the UAM's portfolio.
