The first master’s degree course is currently in the process of conclusion. Students are writing their theses or completing their exams. The third course begins in March 2010 with thirty new students.
Up to now the master’s degree course was composed exclusively of compulsory modules. It will now be determined whether and how areas of specialization can be introduced. This would meet the growing demand by specific institutions for advanced staff training. The topics currently under review are Resource Management and Disaster Prevention, Crisis Prevention and Conflict Transformation, and Social Security Systems. The capacity for contract research is to be reinforced and networking with national and international development cooperation agencies intensified. Likewise there are ideas to extend the number of courses for guest listeners, which in turn would strengthen the MSG financial basis.
